Default Drawing "spirograph" style imaged in CAD?

Does anyone know of a way to draw spirograph style lines in CAD? I'd like to be able to be able to draw them and then stretch them.

    Hi Sheldon,

I wrote a program a while ago that lets you draw spirograph patterns and create ShopBot files of them. It was for a friend that was remodeling a house for a math teacher and wanted something unusual for the rosettes on the corner blocks around the doors. Hopefully there'll be a sample at the bottom of this posting (if the image tag works !)

You're welcome to it if it will help. It wouldn't be too hard to get it to crank out a dxf file if you need to bring it into a CAD program.

    Thanks Pete and Bill,

I checked out the Java apps, those are amazing.

Bill, your program, how does it work?

    Hi Sheldon,

It's a Windows program that lets you set the different values for the pattern like gear sizes and number of revolutions, draw a preview on the screen, and when you like the pattern you can create an sbp or dxf file.

If you have all the Visual Basic runtime files that it needs ( many computers already do), the program itself is pretty small (only 40k). If you don't have all the stuff you need, a full version with installer is a little less than 2 megs.

Drop me an email if you want to give it a try,
    Bill
